When I was 17, I realized something about myself – I was addicted to cheesecake. I was almost done with Hillel’s IB program and was excited about going off to college to explore the world, and trying to find the best cheesecake out there. I ended up heading to Amherst College in Massachusetts with 8 A*s in IGCSE, and a 42 in IB under my belt, where I pursued Psychology and Music. I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts with Honors and decided to return to Jamaica, where my heart was, to make a difference where it mattered most.

Having been inspired and coached to success by a handful of teachers over the years who made learning exciting, I have come to realize the importance of a holistic educational experience: one that considers the learning environment, the teacher-student relationship, and the student’s unique needs to be just as important as the material being taught. Right now in Jamaica, education is key to unlocking the potential of the next generation, and I am excited to be a part of a new wave of educators and learners that makes education exciting. Although I haven’t found the world’s best cheesecake, I have found a vibrant and talented team that shares this vision for excellence in academics and in life.
