We value our brilliant tutors and compensate our team based on the number of hours tutored per month. Our tutors are paid at a rate proportional to their educational qualifications and demonstrated experience as an instructor.
It gives me great joy when I am able to explain a concept to a student and see that ‘aha’ moment the second they get it. That look is priceless to me and absolutely nothing can compare to that! With GetThere, I have been privileged enough to do that for the past few years in subject areas such as CSEC, CAPE, IB Biology, Chemistry and SAT English. Creating dynamic relationships with students and seeing them become more confident in each lesson would have to be my favourite part about working at GetThere. I love my role here and thoroughly enjoy what I do.
I have always had a passion for teaching. I started teaching after graduating high school, which came naturally to me. After attaining a BSc in Geology from The University of the West Indies Mona, I had the desire to get back into teaching. Thankfully GetThere has provided me that opportunity. Working with young students in an organization that focuses on their holistic development is something I am glad to be part of. The joy of seeing students conquer educational challenges is second to none, and therefore I strive to understand a student’s learning methods and tailor learning strategies to suit them. In this environment students become friends, and like any friend, you want what’s best for them. I make it my duty to push students to their fullest capacity and help them develop self confidence and determination to always give their best.
Seeing My Students Come To Class To Learn Everyday And Leaving With A Better Understanding And More Knowledge Than They Came With Filled Me With Pure Satisfaction And Fulfillment. Being A Part Of GetThere Has Truly Been Surreal – I Can Honestly Say This Is One Of The Best Decisions I’ve Ever Made. Not Only Do I Get To Meet And Create Bonds With Amazing People, But I Also Get To Help Them Follow Their Passions And Achieve Their Goals In The Same Way I Have.
